Real Estate Attorney’s: As a FSBO, should I fill out & display a Seller’s Disclosure Form?
We had a prospective buyer call today (they are coming to view our house tonight, we are selling our home FSBO) and they asked if we had a Seller’s Disclosure Form filled out, for them to see. I know the form they mean. Is this something that I should have displayed for buyers to see? Should I have my Real Estate Attorney create one or should I just go to an Office Supply store & buy one? My family built this house (85 years ago), and we have nothing to hide. Please advise. Thank you!
I would make it available but I would not display it. Make sure you are honest with it. As a real estate agent I use one that is already been checked by attorney. You may want your attorney to check out the office supply form just for peace of mind. In my state, maybe yours, you also have to have a lead disclosure form for any home built before 1978, that may be a federal thing.
