What type of business or service would be successful in a small suburban city in the Philippines?

Is it always going to be a sari-sari store, or is there a demand for other goods and/or services? I have heard suggestions from internet cafe to cyber introduction (dating sites). Any input from a citizen “in country” would be helpful.
